Experts from Tantor Labs at PGDay Israel 2025

On October 19, 2025, the 8th annual PGDay Israel 2025 conference was held in Tel Aviv – an official PostgreSQL community event that brings together enthusiasts, users, and developers of one of the world's most popular database management systems. Tantor Labs participated as an event partner, and our experts as speakers.
AWS Experience Center hosted the official PostgreSQL community event and brought together over 150 specialists – database engineers, architects, and DevOps engineers working with PostgreSQL. The program was dedicated to key aspects of PostgreSQL development and operation, covering in-depth technical topics such as the database's internals, the lock manager's operation, Write-Ahead Logging (WAL) compression, and advanced architectural solutions like separating compute resources and storage. Aspects of database security were addressed, particularly the practical use of the Zero Trust, AI-powered cluster management tools, and the efficient usage of temporary development environments.
Also, partners' cloud solutions and new capabilities of PostGIS, a popular extension for working with geographical data, were showcased.
Representatives from key companies and organizations that develop PostgreSQL solutions attended the conference, including AWS, EnterpriseDB, Tantor Labs, Baseshift, and Rapydo.

Bruce Momjian, co-founder and a member of the core team of the PostgreSQL Global Development Group spoke at the conference. He gave a presentation on the internal blocking mechanisms of PostgreSQL.
PGDay Israel 2025 once again demonstrated how open, cohesive, and resilient the global PostgreSQL community is. Official community events contribute to open knowledge exchange within an integrated professional space where specialists from different countries continue to develop technologies together. For Russian companies, participating in international PostgreSQL conferences is a way not to be confined to the local market, but to maintain active interaction with the global community, stay abreast of new trends, and share their own experience.

The next PGDay Israel event is scheduled for October 25, 2026.
