Tantor Labs has presented an updated version of Tantor Platforms 6.1 for administrating and monitoring any PostgreSQL-based databases. The release presents integration with the database machine Tantor XData, AI assistant, improved database auditing, and anonymizer.
Integration with Tantor XData database machine (DBM) is part of the update; the connection page provides data on how hardware resources are used and how Tantor XData is configured, including physical servers, clusters, network settings, and namespaces that display resource restrictions. On the Namespace page, you can add clusters, and on the Backup page, you can setup integration with the built-in backup system. You can view the list of backups on "Backup Monitoring" page. A backup can be restored to the current cluster or another cluster.
In the updated DB browser, the "Audit" page has been redesigned. You can now quickly assess the size and condition of the largest tables thanks to the addition of a table size distribution map. DBAs will be able to diagnose and identify errors faster thanks to database audit report available for downloading, which contains basic information about the database, full table analytics, information on the existing problems and recommendations on troubleshooting.
The AI assistant integrated into the platform is designed to significantly simplify the work of the database administrator. You can ask it about the functionality of the DBMS, Tantor XData DBM, the operation of the Tantor platform, etc.
For flexible access rights configuration and data anonymization control, new roles have been added to the Anonymizer. Thus, the new role of the research administrator allows the user to configure meta-dictionaries, start the process and control the result of data scanning. Another addition to the roles is the anonymization administrator. The role allows checking the completeness of the markup, starting anonymization processes using a meta-dictionary and monitoring the results of data anonymization.
Among the many interface enhancements and other improvements included in the update is the optimization of task work, which includes the addition of task completion notifications to the task creation window.Logs of creation and deletion of a namespace are displayed correctly in the Event Log, as well as the number of uncompleted backups on the Namespaces page.
